Not yet a separate 501(c)3 — but a real, funded commitment. A percentage of every Hauled & Found sale goes directly to scholarships, mentorship, and paid workforce training for DC-area youth. The same model that launched Stuff Haulers in 2006 is now the model that funds what comes next.
In 2006, I started Stuff Haulers out of a dump truck in Seattle to pay for college and take care of my family. When Howard University accepted me, I sold the truck, packed my car, and drove across the country to DC. I arrived in August 2009 with a new city, a new school, and no truck. Stuff Haulers gave me a path. The Haul Up Foundation exists to give that same path to young people who are figuring it out — just like I was.
Hauling gave Rudolph a path. The Haul Up Foundation is built to give that same sense of direction to young people in DC who are figuring it out — through education, mentorship, or a paycheck and a trade.
Need-based scholarships for DC-area youth pursuing college or vocational training. Because the right opportunity at the right moment changes everything.
One-on-one mentorship pairing young people with DC-area entrepreneurs and professionals. You don't need a traditional path to build something real.
Paid workforce training in hauling, moving, logistics, and trades. Earn while you learn — the same model that launched Stuff Haulers in 2006.
The Haul Up Foundation is funded by a percentage of every Hauled & Found sale. When items from your cleanout are resold through our marketplace instead of sent to a landfill, part of that value goes directly to the Foundation.
It's not a separate donation ask. It's not an opt-in. It's built into the business model — the same way hauling once built a path for Rudolph, every haul now builds a path for someone else.
How Hauled & Found Works →When we identify items with resale value during your cleanout, we photograph, list, and sell them through the Hauled & Found marketplace. A portion of every sale goes to the Haul Up Foundation. No extra steps. No extra ask. Just a business model that gives back automatically.
The Haul Up Foundation is one cause. The GW Cancer Center is another — and they are intentionally separate. Both are funded by Hauled & Found sales, but they exist for different reasons and serve different purposes.
Cancer research at the George Washington University Cancer Center receives a dedicated portion of every Hauled & Found sale. Not because it's trendy. Because this cause touches nearly every family we serve — including ours.
A portion of every Hauled & Found sale supports cancer research at the George Washington University Cancer Center — because this cause touches nearly every family we serve.
The GW Cancer Center is one of the Mid-Atlantic region's leading cancer research and treatment institutions. Our contribution is automatic with every resale transaction — no separate donation required from you.
